Traditional Popular Festival
November 2025
Illustration created for promotional use on urban posters (various formats) and the program of activities.
The “Esfoyaza” is a traditional Asturian festival. Men and women, young and old, would gather around the corn, husking the ‘panoyas’ (ears of corn) and preparing them to store the grain during the winter. Traditional food and sweet cider, music and songs, dances, and ancient games have been interwoven into village life for hundreds of years. In 2025, after a hiatus of more than 20 years, this popular tradition, so deeply rooted in the Asturian spirit and identity, was revived at the Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies (Gijón).
